The right caster cup might help decouple the piano sound from the floor, helping with acoustic isolation. As far as I can tell, there are three reasons I might want to use caster cups:ġ. I have a Mason & Hamlin AA grand that is placed on a rug in a 250-sq-ft room. I have seen several threads on Piano World concerning caster cups, but it’s not clear why I should use them or which kind is the best for me.
