You swap out a 4th level paladin spell for two 1st Cleric spells PLUS 2 bonus spells BUT you can get two extra feats from the cleric if you choose the right domains. (I might try a Pally / DC / Fighter build depending on how they nerfed the DC PrC) Second is a paladin to level 10 then switch to DC. I'm going to do a number of separate paladin builds: I did a paladin/fighter/DC build in NWN1 and he totally kicked butt - but NWN2 has changed a lot of things. Just remember that the DC's smite infidel and the pally's smite evil do not stack. If you weren't planning on having the paladin cast 3rd or 4th level spells anyway, then switching isn't a bad idea. Those points would have been better put in almost any other stat, and they'll be wasted in wisdom. The first few levels might be a tad on the difficult side, but you (eventually) get to be good in melee, you get an animal companion, you get a summon, you get a henchman, and you get a good range of buff, control. wis 14+) then switching over to DC is probably not a good idea.
